See, hear and do at one of the most enjoyable
attractions in
Edmonton! This Telephone Historical Centre is the
largest of its
type in North America. Perfect for all ages. A
special highlight
is our multi-media presentation featuring Xeldon,
the talking
robot and great historical footage of Edmonton.
The Telephone Historical Centre opened to the public
in 1987. It
was founded by a group of ED TEL retirees who were
dedicated to
preserving the history of the telephone in the
Edmonton area.
In May 2005, the Centre relocated to the Prince of
Wales Armoury. Please visit us in this historic
building.
Due to City of Edmonton renovations to the Prince of Wales Armouries the museum has had to move on a temporary basis. Until further notice the Telephone Historical Centre will be located in the YMCA Heritage Centre at 10211 – 105 Street. The mailing address and will remain as PO Box 188 Stn. Main, Edmonton. Alberta T5J 2J1. The telephone numbers will also remain as 780 433 1010 and FAX as 780 426 1876.
